Step One: "I Need To Find This Website"
When you type a website name, your computer immediately has a problem.
Computers don't actually understand names like:

They communicate using numbers called IP addresses.
Think of it like trying to mail a letter.
Writing:
"Grandma"
on the envelope isn't enough.
You need her mailing address.
Websites work the same way.
Step Two: Asking The Internet's Phone Book
So how does your computer find that address?
It asks a service called DNS.
DNS stands for Domain Name System.

Then sends all of it back.
